Led Projects lights up the new centre court at the Open Menorca

The centre court of the Open Menorca ATP Challenger 100 has been upgraded with a new tennis court lighting installation by Led Projects, as part of the renewed agreement as the tournament’s technology partner. The 2026 edition, held from 29 March to 5 April in Ciutadella, marked a further step forward in the event’s technical and competitive consolidation.

Our intervention focused on adapting the main court lighting to meet ATP requirements for competition and night-time broadcasting, a key factor in ensuring the viability of matches under low natural light conditions. The implemented solution delivered the necessary levels of illuminance, uniformity and glare control, enhancing both player performance and the overall viewing experience.

This type of intervention goes beyond a one-off upgrade; it responds to a structural need for tournaments aiming to evolve within the ATP international circuit. Tennis court lighting becomes a decisive element in planning, particularly as schedules expand and broadcast windows are introduced.

Throughout the competition week, the tournament combined sporting action with activities linked to the professional tennis environment. Highlights included the tribute to Manolo Orantes and Álex Corretja, as well as a session featuring Pepe Imaz and Corretja himself, offering additional insight into the evolution of tennis from both a competitive and human perspective. Initiatives like these reinforce the positioning of the Open Menorca as an event that goes beyond the court.

The organisation, led by Biosport Menorca, also faced demanding weather conditions from the outset, while ensuring the smooth running of the competition.

For us, being part of this project means contributing to the alignment of technical infrastructure with the tournament’s growth, ensuring that every match is played under stable lighting conditions in line with ATP standards.
